Description

My take on the Cobra Rattler, heavily influenced by the MiG29 and the Sukhoi 27(slightly smaller than an SU-27 at 62 ft long vs. the SU-27 at 72)
for my purposes they're built by a M.A.R.S subsidiary called A.R.E.S and sold to the Black Diamonds(see (and read in this order) "Black Diamonds 2005", "Blood Among the Stones", "Holy Ground" "Blackline Angels" "And the Stars Rained Down" and Grace to Conquer") and Cobra(who they worked for from 2005 to 2020).
This one has Black Diamonds markings, minus a squadron logo (painted under the call sign) personal nose art(painted on the nose) and kill markers(painted above the painted call sign and along the top of the "neck")
This one belongs to a squadron commander(indicated by the oversized double arrows on the nose, in place of personal art, note: many squadron commanders still have personal art but smaller arrows0) who goes by the call sign "Helix" and was one of the first to get one of the new 1st generation Rattler 2s circa 2005.
(note: only assigned numbers once the Black Diamonds reorganized in 2025)

Members of named Squadrons don't identify each other by call sign on open channels preferring  "(Squadron) Lead(er)" and ending with "(Squadron)One-Six"  All squadrons When talking to ground control use another system. example Delta Foxtrot(Squadron Number)(callsign)

however when in battle they switch to it for ease of communication.

Exceptions to that rule:
the 12th Fighter Squadron "The Dragons" born out of "Helix's" old unit and thus kept the tradition of refering to each other by callsign even outside the cockpit.(logo- Dragon head with a horn on the nose and 2 pairs of curved horns elsewhere, scales shaped like black diamonds in scales along lower jaw and neck
The 7th F.S "The Lucky Sevens" (logo- stylized 7 atop a pair of dice one displaying a 4 and the other a 3)
and the 42nd F.S Squadron "The Long Black Veil" commanded bythe Polish Gypsy Ion "Bishop" Mirga browncoatmando.deviantart.com/… for the same reason as the above example- for ease of communication.
(logo-browncoatmando.deviantart.com/…
However as of the Sino-Iranian Crisis of 2035 "Stormcrow Lead(er)" had yet to be given a call sign simply going by "Lead"
(commanded the 32nd Fighter Squadron "Stormcrows"
logo-stylized Black Crow head in profile above a stormcloud

other famous Black Diamond squadrons include
the 30th "the Smiling Ghosts" logo - a face one side a smiling face(think a jack in the box)and the other a grinning skull, wearing a single pointed jester hat and under it the words "Niemand lacht zweimal" (German: No one laughs twice)

the 22nd(inherited the squadron logo from Cobra 908 Squadron along with some of its membership(logo- a feathered serpent)
the 8th(same thing, inherited members and logo from Cobra 512th Sqaudron became the 8th, 5+1+2 =8)

16th- Medusa head(inherited from Cobra 302 Sqaudron along with membership, they change it to have black, diamond shaped pupils)
9th(inherited from Cobra 901 sqaudron)-stylized question mark with a black diamond in place of bottom dot
25th "The Wild Geese' a pair of wings surrounding a Black Diamond, oval above, round side down, 25 on the inside

Cobra Markings consist of the cobra logo in red ferrebeekeeper.files.wordpress… on the tail and wing tops. painted to suit location and specific mission

famous Cobra Squardons to use them include
908(9th army 8th squadron)-feathered serpent(later inherited by the 22nd Black Diamonds F.S) kxeron.deviantart.com/art/sket… -used by permission of the artist

409(4th army 9th squadron)- fire breathing cobra, with a forked tail ending in points
302 squadron(I'm sure you see the pattern by now)-medusa head later inherited by the 16th F.S.
F-107(1st fleet seventh sqaudron)-  a winged mermaid wearing naval cammo  browncoatmando.deviantart.com/…

F-203(2nd Fleet 3rd squadron) sea serpent with 4 flipper like limbs, whiskers on lower jaw and fin along back
F-412 "Shrieking eels"- stylized electric eel, surrounded by jagged outline representing electrical current
